A message from Get a training contract 20/09/2010

We offered RollOnFriday the opportunity to use and test our services for free (via one of their members) to see for themselves the results achievable, but this offer was not taken up. It now seems that they have changed their mind.

We are more than happy to offer not just one person but two people the opportunity to use our services for free. The offer is on the obvious understanding of receiving a satisfactory apology / admission and removal of articles as we do not fleece clients as suggested. We feel very strongly regarding elements of both articles and the effects caused. The articles have not been removed and we have not received an apology.

In the most recent article it has been suggested that we are in breach of s.6 of the Employment Agencies Act 1973.  A lengthy email from RollOnFriday’s director was also sent to us informing us that “Any person who contravenes this section shall be guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding [F1level 5 on the standard scale]." Scary stuff indeed but RollOnFriday simply needed to view our site in detail and carry out some basic legal research, we would have expected this from a “company run by former City lawyers”. In response, we can confirm that our company is operating in a legal manner. Although we do not feel we need to constantly respond to every matter we can confirm that we were inspected by the Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate in November 2009 and it was confirmed that we do not fall within the scope of the Employment Agencies Act 1973.

We repeat, with regard to the issue of placing comments and further details on the site, we feel that while many companies decide to publish numerous biased / fictitious reviews just to make sales, we are not in the business of misleading clients or placing details in a bid to complicate the process. Nevertheless, we are considering whether there is a need to place some of the many positive and kind comments. Roll on Friday seem to think we do not wish to share positive comments made by our clients (please see below for details). As stated earlier we feel our services and the process is clearly laid out and we wish for clients to make their own judgement regarding whether to use our services, indeed if we had published such positive comments we would have gained more clients which would have equated to more revenue, this further highlights our nature. The key element of each of our services is the marketing and job targeting phase where we even supply clients with a list of the firms targeted to alleviate any concerns about us doing our job. Our service speaks for itself and we do not make false promises.

Our director has personally communicated with Matthew Rhodes, the director of RollOnFriday, to try to understand why our business is being targeted in such a manner. Among other statements Matthew mentioned that our services are highly priced. While we respect his opinion we have viewed RollOnFriday’s website in some detail and we understand a company called CareerBalance is currently advertising on the site.  CareerBalance state “Full CV & Cover Letter Writing Service. Prices start from £375 plus VAT”. We have even noticed that there is a service charged at £3,620 including VAT.

It was put to Matthew whether he felt such a service was highly priced, Matthew did not comment. It was also put to Matthew that perhaps we should also consider paying to advertise on his site, surprisingly this was not rejected, considering his strong feelings about our company.

We have received numerous calls and emails from Matthew and we kindly request that this stops, indeed such behaviour may be perceived as bordering on harassment. For obvious reasons we no longer wish to deal with RollOnFriday unless they provide a satisfactory apology and satisfy our reasonable requirements regarding this matter. While we can comment on many other revealing matters and observations we simply do not wish to waste our time anymore unlike some companies.

In reference to the above - we have included some kind comments from clients:

We can confirm that such kind comments have not even been requested, they have been voluntarily sent to us. We can confirm the extracts are genuine and they are from our clients. Names have been substituted for initials due to data protection legislation but if for example a court of law requires us to prove authenticity we can do this with ease.
